Spotlight Artist: Hillary Johnson

Ever wonder what it would take to go big… Like really big with your art?

And have it be seen by millions of people?

Since Chicago-based artist Hillary Johnson signed up for the Become Internationally Known program… just six months ago, her work was selected, and installed…

… On a billboard in Brooklyn, New York!

Yup.

Her work is being seen daily by thousands of people.

Not only has her art been featured on a billboard as part of the I AM WATER public art project, but she’s also been travelling to the West Coast and working in her home city of Chicago as part of her, The Waters We Swim In global photography project.

Ladies and gentlemen, she’s doing it!

Hillary guides people through a process of surrendering to the water. She then photographs them as they experience self-realization and healing of their deepest wounds… Helping them to reconnect to the unique gifts they possess.

She is getting paid to do what she loves… And healing others in the process.

Sounds like a dream, right?

This is the life that Hillary has been showing up and creating for herself daily.

When I asked her how she was feeling six months ago, before she started the Become Internationally Known program, she told me this,

“I wondered if I could really have an art career and not be a “starving artist.” A feeling of so close but no cigar. I had been waiting for someone else to come and make it all better.”

Now, Hillary feels confident in her work and her capacity to create the life and career she wants.

She feels deeply grounded in her own sovereignty and agency,

“...a kind of gravitas I never felt before.”

She knows what she wants and knows that she can take the steps to get it.

If Hillary can do it, so can you...

She started treating her art like her job.

She drew boundaries around her time.

She let go of what doesn’t work for her and focused on what does.

And she got the support she needed to take her career to the next level.
